Follow the tour here, or see just the highlights.
The three knees of Sicilia -- the trinakria, or trisceli -- related to the triangular shape and three capes of Sicily, are usually shown with a face in the middle. Chip found this version embroidered on a tee-shirt.
 > Our flight path out of SFO took us over the bridges....
In Flight to Frankfurt
 > ...over the American midwest (Grand Tetons?) ...
In Flight to Frankfurt
 > ...above Hudson Bay, then over the Atlantic... to Frankfurt, Milan, and finally Palermo. We luxuriated in business class, and, yes, our luggage made it, too!

 > Late Thursday afternoon, Pietro drove us from the Palermo airport to the very relaxing relais and winery, Abbazia Sant'Anastasia, in the hills just south of Cefalu. Thursday, September 27, 2007.
 > Benvenuto a Sicilia!
Paolo welcomes us to Sant'Anastasia with wine tasting, including a lovely light white wine, Contempo Grillo (made from Grillo grapes). At only 4 Euro a bottle, it seemed like a steal, until you counted the $16 shipping per bottle to the US!
We tasted many Grillo's in Sicily, but none so gentle.

 > Our first dinner in Sicily at the Ristorante La Corte dell ’Abate included Chip's favorite pasta dish, a simple pasta with fresh tomatoes, and Katharine's sea bass with toasted almonds. Ristorante La Corte dell ’Abate, Abbazia Sant'Anastasia.
