Safari in Tanzania Jan 2008 (Ngorongoro Crater)
This was my second visit to the Ngorongora crater - first was during the dry season and this time it was after the rains and there was a great transformation with green grass everywhere covered with a carpet of white flowers dotted with some pink ones too. Many migratory birds were in abundanace. The highlight being the witnessing of several wildebeest births which occur in January/February in the Crater The beauty of the surrounding landscape was indescribable with herds of zebras, buffalos, antelopes, wildebeest, ostriches, crowned cranes spread over the green pastures, soda lakes full of flamings, ponds covered with waterbirds and hippos with black rhinos also grazing at a distance.
