( now "Bike Ways") from north Spartanburg. Mainly flat, lite traffic. 2-3 hr ride depending

Lot of climbing, little traffic, relatively short. There are ways to
make this ride longer and harder. Marco knows them all,of course. We will share them with you soon.It is about a one hour drive from Spartanburg to the start.Food in Saluda. I try to avoid it, of course. George Hincappie told me to.

Park near Tigerville. Loads of climbing, especially over Caesar's Head Mountain. I moved to Spartanburg
in 1999 after learning that the Spartanburg
club president did the Caesar'sHead climb at night to train for Mount Mitchell.
One day riding up Caesar'sHead I saw George Hincappie riding down.

on the indoor trainer. Looking at hear rate and speed helps me structure my indoor training rides
and avoids boredom.
I try to avoid excessive intensity
on the trainer. Riding with the group on the road is punishment enough for me. If you have questions about training, submit them. I don't have answers but I do have strong opinions.
