The Pinhoti Trail is a 240 mile trail stretching Alabama's Appalachian Mountains into Northwest Georgia. For many hiker enthusiast, the Pinhoti Trail is the start of the Appalachian Trail. “Pinhoti” derives from the Creek Indian word meaning “turkey home”.
