RandD > 2008.07.21 (Mon) - Well, I showed up for jury duty hoping to get dismissed but it wasn't to be. It is a criminal case but should only take a week by the judges best estimate. I informed my employer, they didn't sound to happy to hear it. I can't talk about the case, but it does look like it will be interesting.

Chris dropped Peyton off at our place around 4:30, we watched her until Kayla got off about 6:30. We ordered dinner, then the four of us took off to look at the tree the beavers have been working on. They are almost all the way through, I expect they will have it downed by the weekend.

We hung out for a while hoping to get another glimse at the beaver family but they did not cooperate. Security came though and hassled B & Bri (couple of teens hanging out alone behind a business complex!!!) but they informed security that they were with us (They drove right past us without a question) and that we were over taking photographs of beavers. The kids said that the security guard seemed a bit skeptical, but he bought their story and left them alone.

We left and were still in need of a photo and Briana told us of a nice view of our city from her Grandma's neighborhood so we drove to Rocklin to grab this shot.

This was my first time shooting RAW, I didn't do any processing. The photo was ISO 1200 so it is fairly grainy. Not the best photo but it was a beautiful view.

Good night,

RandD > 2008.07.20 (Sun) - Robin had to work early again, she woke me while getting ready to work and I got up about 5AM and decided to go look for my daily photo early. I drove out to where I work looking for something that didn't work out so I drove around until I spotted this building that looked very interesting in the morning light. I took several shots but I liked this one the best.

I returned home in time to take B & Bri to church, I skipped service and returned home to begin cleaning. We invited some new friends over for dinner so I spent the morning cleaning, mopping, waxing, and doing yardwork to prepare.

Robin got home around 3PM which didn't leave her much time to prepare, thank goodness they were on IST (India Stretchable Time), this gave us just enough time to have everything ready when they did arrive.

Bobby is a good friend of mine, we do lunch every Thursday. Today we were lucky enough to meet his wife Herlin and their children, Simr and Ungad. Robin prepared a great diner, Kayla and Peyton showed up and the kids all got to swim while we adults got to know each other a little better. It was nice having Bobby and his family over, they are such a nice family. I hope we can do it again soon.

Well, time for me to get to bed, I have jury duty tomorrow!

RandD > 2008.07.19 (Sat) Robin worked very early and got home around 2PM. Brandon and I got up late, I scratched my cornea last week and it hasn't healed so so I had to run to the doctor to have him looked at. I got some eyedrops that should have it feeling better by Monday.

After picking up my prescription, we took the Mustang to Bob's car wash. It got pampered with a wash, and interior cleaning, then we picked up Briana and went to a local car lot to test drive a BMW 325 Ci that Robin has had her eye on for a while. Later, we returned home (without the car) and hung out until Robin got home.

The four of us when swimming for a while, then Robin fired up the BBQ and cooked a TriTip for dinner. After dinner we all ran out to Rancho Cordova to look at a giant spider web but the web was not getting any evening light so we'll have to come back to it some time in the early morning to shoot that. After the web we drove further away from our home looking for a shot, we ended up in the country.

We stopped to pet these beautiful horses and I decided to shoot the two of them in the low evening light. After this, we happened upon an old barn and shot it before returning to our neighborhood to grab some ice cream at Leatherbees.

See you tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2008.07.18 (Fri) - Biked in today, I wrapped up the Process Flows and Use Cases that were due by the end of day Monday. I got called up for jury duty and have to report at 9AM Monday so all my deliverables had to be completed today. The ride home was hot and I worked a bit late so I took Sunrise Blvd all the way home.... Bad idea, I may have saved 10 minutes but it would have been safer to take my usual route.

Got home, showered, changed, and took Brandon out to dinner. We went and checked on the "Beaver Tree". It is still standing and while we were there we got to see some of the beavers swimming in the wetlands that they have created, it was pretty neat.

We returned home and Brandon hopped on X-Box live and I started reading a new book I picked up. It is a book on C# business objects. The guys at work have decided that we are going to use CSLA for our business object archictecture so I am going to need to get familiar with it fairly quickly. A couple of chapters in and I realized I needed to grab my daily photo so I opted for this self portrait.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.07.17 (Thu) - Took the car today so that I could have lunch with Bobby since he had to watch the kids and couldn't come pick me up at noon. I worked late yesterday so I decided to arrived late today morning to make up for it! Boy did it feel nice to sleep in. Lunch was great, Bobby made paninis and an Indian desert that I already forgot the name of. Both were great! I wrapped up things at work by 4:00 and headed home. I caught Brandon for a few minutes before he took off to his friends house.

So, at this point I am home alone and bored... This photo is what you get when I am home alone and bored. At least my daily photo is done early. Now I look forward to Robin coming home so we can hang out together.

See you tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2008.07.16 (Wed) - Started my day a bit later than usual, got up at 5:45. I had to rush out the door to make it to work by 7:00. The ride in was very nice. Robin had packed my lunch and a dinner because I expected to have to work late. I worked until 5:30PM and rode straight to my regular Wed night to hang out with the guys. I hung out for a couple hours and then headed home, arriving at about 9:00PM. I took a quick shower and changed while Brandon played his new X-Box 360 Elite and Robin took the dogs for a quick walk.

After cleaning up, Robin and I ran to the grocery store to grab a few things we were out of and then we decided to cruise on over and check out the "Beaver Tree" that I shot yesterday. We were hoping to maybe catch the beaver in the act but no such luck. We did see a bunch of frogs and one crawdad but didn't get any good shots.

We sat silently in the dark for quite a while, just listening to all the sounds and enjoying the full moon and being together, it was nice. I did steal a couple kisses from Robin, that was nice too!

Before leaving, I grabbed the tripod and this shot the office building right behind us and we headed home for the evening.

Until tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2008.07.15 (Tue) - Biked in today, the bike ride was very nice. It's amazing how much smoother the ride in is when you've got a clean chain and everything is adjusted well. The weather was very nice too, a slight head wind but it felt good to be back on two wheels.

Work went well, the teamwork has been great this last couple of weeks. I went for a short one mile walk around the lunch hour. The ride home was nice but it had really warmed up, I worked up a pretty good sweat and got a nice work out.

After work, we (Robin, B, Bri, and I) hung out, ate dinner, and then visited with Chris, Kayla, and Peyton. Brandon had someone over to purchase his x-box 360, he is planning on upgrading with the money he got.

After all this, Robin and I dropped B & Bri off at Bri's house and then got ready to head out for our regular Tuesday night fellowship. We were running a bit early so we stopped for a quick photo opportunity. I was shooting here the other day and wanted to come back for a better shot of the Cat Tails. While there we noticed a very large tree that some beavers have been working on, it looks like they should have this tree downed in the next day or so, check out what they have done so far!

While there I grabbed this shot and then went on with our evening.

See you tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2008.07.14 (Mon) - I have no excuse for not biking in today. Work went well for a Monday, I worked a bit late to get some last minute changes to some use cases and work with the other developers on some of the software design estimates.

Got home and ordered dinner for delivery and then cleaned out the garage before deciding to get my bike all ready for the morning. I cleaned the chain, sprockets, and gave it a good lube. Next I adjusted the dederailleurs and gave her a good test ride around the block. I am now set for my 12 mile ride into work tomorrow!

After working on the bike, we ate dinner together and then watched some TV. I was not feeling too inspired and grabbed the nearest object to shoot for my daily photo. Here it is, not too exciting but they can't all be, right?

See you tomorrow,

-Darron
RandD > 2008.07.13 (Sun) - Robin had to be at work at 5AM again, Brandon and I rose at 7:30 and got ready for church. We picked up Bri and made it to the 8:15 service. After the main service I left B & Bri to their youth services and I ran home and grabbed the camera. I shot some photos of a nearby greenbelt and then picked the kids up about 11AM. We had to drop Bri back at her place around 2pm.

Robin got home before 3PM, we napped for a while and then got up when Kayla arrived with Peyton. We all swam for a bit, then I got out to BBQ dinner while the girls played in the pool. I grabbed some shots of Kayla and Peyton playing while watching the burgers and dogs.

After dinner, Kayla took off with Peyton and Robin helped me pick the daily photo. It was a nice relaxing day. I think I'll turn in early.

Until tomorrrow,
