Hershy > Chipmunk (Squirrel)
Chipmunk is the common name for any small squirrel-like rodent species of the genus Tamias in the family Sciuridae.
ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chipmunk

Shot at my cousin's garden in Ahmedabad.

This is the modified version of my original picture put up here 2 days ago. In that a twig was 'dividing' the Chipmunk's body and Karina and others suggested that it should be removed. Totally agree as the result shows here. Thank you all!

Missed you lovely people and thought of you when shooting in some spare time. Could manage to look up the Daily gallery only for a few minutes the last three days, can anyone guide me how to go through the daily pictures missed during last week? Do write to me at harsh@javeri.net

Shot at my cousin's garden in Ahmedabad.

Hello all! Am still out, in Ahmdabad and on the Net for a few minutes. Missing all you wonderful people and will be back on Thursday. Will catch up with the dailies then. Cheers!

31st July - Karina, you are right, the twig on the squirrel is distracting. Another friend also made the same comment (personally). Will work on it and put it up soon. Thanks!

Have modified the pic so please see this version:

Hershy > Abu Simbel, Egypt

Besides the Pyramids, a must-see in Egypt are the temples of Abu Simbel, situated 280 km from Aswan. The two temples built by Ramesses II are dedicated to Re-Harakhte, and that of his wife, Nefertari dedicated to Hathor. Built 3000 years ago, they were discovered by J. L. Burckhardt in 1813.

The statues rise to 67 feet and are a majestic sight but the site is also famous for another reason. The original temples were built in a valley that was going to be submerged in Lake Naser with the waters from the new High Dam. In 1964 the Egyptian Govt., with the support of UNSECO shifted the temples, stone by stone; to the present site and took four years to complete.

Turned to B&W
