krista > july 16 '09 i was wrong =) there is a sunflower field this year!! i caught a glimpse of yellow from the bypass today so headed on over to have a look and they are just starting to bloom. wasn't prepared and this is an awful shot so i added some brushwork and happy because i think sunflowers are a happy flower =)
krista > july 12 '09 i think mushrooms are cool, there are so many different kinds. i thought this one was cute. this is from last night. ~ looked at it this morning and it had opened up like an umbrella. i didn't know they did that ~ kind of like a flower blooming.
krista > july 6 '09 yay! the japanese beetles didn't stick around long this year ~ not much damage done ~ by now i know i don't have the stick-to-itness to try to fight them with sprays or anything. lensbaby shot ~ still hooked on that thing =) and a slight texture. *to answer jeff's query about the blue lines ~ it is russian sage ~ is it distracting??

krista > june 8 '09 coneflowers are blooming. and i swear this is about the only bloom that isn't sad looking ~ they are all mangled and deformed for some reason. what's up with that :( still trying to figure out the lensbaby ~ that would be why the leaf at the top is in focus and not the flower :P
krista > june 4 '09 this is verbena. i usually concentrate on perennials because i like that they come back every year ~ unfortunately they don't bloom all season ~ so this year i'm trying some annuals. playing with a lensbaby and i don't really know what i'm doing :)
krista > may 26 '09 i'm not a big fan of frogs ~ but when all they do is lounge around on lily pads all day i can't help but take shots of them. i can get pretty close now before they jump in the water.
krista > may 18 '09 tiny blooms on the spirea bush. what i like about it is it looks like glitter at the ends of the stamens.
