krista > june 18 '09 oriental lilies are starting to bloom. i just planted these this year. it was a collection of different colors ~ well, i didn't expect to just receive a single bag of bulbs ~ thought they'd be separated by colors. not!! so i'm not sure what color will come up where :)

krista > june 12 '09 i think i've decided calla lilies are my favorite. love how the blooms last so long and they change color as they age. this started out cream with a pink rim and now it's ruby red. and the heart shape =)
krista > june 11 '09 and yet another shot from the "botanical garden". hollyhocks ~ they aren't that pretty but i think it's the light i like about this shot.
krista > june 10 '09 another shot from yesterday. it was a beautiful iris and this is the only shot i got ~ i must have gotten distracted :( but there's something i like about this one. i don't have any iris in my yard, i should give them a try.
krista > june 9 '09 i live in a small town and we have a "botanical garden" ~ believe it or not i'd never been. i went today ~ thanks vicki for asking! i usually avoid taking pictures in the sun, so i didn't expect to have many good shots. but i got a few i liked so it was hard to choose one. geez, didn't feel they welcome people coming in and just taking pictures. a kind of snooty lady came out and asked all kind of questions and wanted it to be known they charge a yearly photography fee. what the?? that's not how most gardens are is it?
krista > june 17 '09 this is from a month or so ago. columbine ~ i have lavender and this pink ~ the pink is my favorite, but it has been very slow to get growing.
