Finding that one perfect shot to adequately capture a moment in each day is a challenge. It forces us to look at our world through new eyes, to live more fully in the present, and to appreciate what lies in front of us even when perfection is elusive.
Sept. 26, 2008: This is a photo of Crater Lake that I took last week in Oregon. It was a bright sunny day, but a wildfire in the area created a huge cloud and added a dark, mysterious feel to the lake.
This was the first time that I was actually able to drive around the lake. My two previous visits were in mid May, and the perimeter road could not be accessed due to snow. (Average snowfall per year is 523 inches!)
