Cades Cove & Smoky Mountains
Wood carvers and craftsmen and women are one of the best things about East Tennessee. In Townsend and around Gatlinburg are some of the finest crafts and arts around. Here are a few samples.
BB Walker is Townsend, Tennessee's most famous mule. Star of stage, screen and film, Walker's furry face has appeared in many movies and documentaries. He, along with his human companion Kim Faulk (right) used to pull a carriage in New Orleans. After nearly twenty years of the party streets of New Orleans the two retired to Townsend where Faulk and her partner Stan Davis bought Apple Valley Stables - a horse back riding stable for tourists and local riders.
