Leigh  > Portfolio > Flight
This batch of photos comes from an overcast morning spent wandering around Boeing Field. Outside of the Museum of Flight were a number of antique bi-planes and fighters that had been meticulously restored, all lined up in the parking lot. Most were from the 1930's to the mid-1940's. As I was photographing these, I thought about some of the films taken by the military in the Pacific theatre towards the war's end. They were in color, but with a gold and brown, slightly overexposed tint to them. When I began working with the images, it became clear they were best suited to this style. Very little retouching has been done other than RAW color conversion in Photoshop Lightroom.

WWII fighter plane prop and engine. What amazes me about these aircraft, save the fact they are still airworthy, is how simple the design of the engines were.
