Fuller > Girls and Swings

There is something about those blue eyes, blonde hair, and the hand holding the rope swing that I just love. I also like how she is not looking at me (although I do wish her eyes were more in focus). Catching the other little one on the swing in mid-air was an added bonus.
Fuller > In the Spotlight

I couldn't just settle for playing matchbox cars with my kids. Naturally, I had to interrupt all races to bring you a Photo a Day. Fortunately, my kids are used to it and were helping me set this shot up. i took some other cool shots of the car upside down and spinning which I promised my son we would videotape tomorrow. I've noticed that he sometimes requests a video of a photo I've taken that involves motion. The still shots just don't satisfy his need for speed, I guess. :)

There is nothing cooler than a pair of pink Chucks.
Fuller > Happy Family

Here is a shot of my girlfriend and her family from the photo session yesterday. I really like how casual everyone looks and I know it just fits their family perfectly. I didn't pose them at all and love the way they just came together like this.

Dirkster - thanks for the suggestion on the larger group shot from yesterday. I took your advice and cropped the edges. I was questioning that myself, so thanks for seeing it for me and sharing.
Fuller > The Whole Family

I had the pleasure of doing a photo session with my friend's family yesterday. This was the best of the whole group shot since all of the adults were looking and smiling. It's a difficult task to get this many kids looking and smiling at the same time!

I'd really appreciate some constructive feedback on this one. I enhanced the color slightly and added a vignette, but I don't know...I feel like it still needs something. I wish the background was more blurred, and at f5.6 I thought it would be. But in closer inspection, I think I may have actually focused on the background?! Ugh, rookie mistakes are such a drag! Thanks for any tips/suggestions.
Fuller > Learning by Exploring

I am preparing for another family photo shoot tomorrow. I always spend the night before a shoot studying photos from past sessions to review what I did right, as well as study photos to see what I did wrong or could've done better. This list is usually way more extensive than the things I did right list! :)

Here you see the three boys in this family all finding their spots on this amazing tree. The original photo was so flat that I had to do a lot of color correction, and it seemed a little more interesting when I saturated the colors more than normal. It feels like a "busy" photo but there is something about it that I find so appealing. It wasn't until I viewed the images from this shoot on my computer that I realized that big empty space directly in the middle would've been an ideal place to have the parents join in the picture. I just didn't "see it" at the actual time of the session because I was concentrating on a bazillion other things. So, I am sharing this photo tonight as a reminder to myself to think about not just what is in the picture but what might be missing from it!
Fuller > Pumpkin Guts

Who says you have to carve a pumpkin before Halloween?
Fuller > My Fallback

I really don't mean to fill my photo a day gallery with pictures of my kids, but when I haven't captured something for the day or don't feel what I've shot is good, I can always rely on them to save me.

Fuller > Come On, Yanks...You Can Do It!

This was taken the other day on our San Francisco adventure day. There is a terrific museum located in Fisherman's Wharf that houses lots of vintage arcade games (http://www.museemechanique.org/). I really liked the rust spots and textures of this game, not to mention the obvious sturdy metal construction of the players. You'd never see a game built like this nowadays, right? My son was intrigued by the way the ball was being pitched - it would appear out of the hole in the pitcher's chest, fall into the pitcher's "glove" (the big metal bowl) and then it would get tossed to the batter. There is so much to look at and see in this game, as well as in the entire museum. I rarely recommend for visitors who come to San Francisco to spend any time near Fisherman's Wharf (big tourist trap), but I think this is worth the trip.

Oh, and the Yankees were SUPPOSED to win this series up the other night, but since they just needed to make it happen on their home turf, this photo is dedicated to them and their victory that will be taking place later on tonight!

Fuller > A Space Shuttle Takes Off for Trick or Treating

This would've been better if you could see this little guys awesome space shuttle costume from the front, but I just loved the lighting on this to not post it.

Thanks for the comments on my "Carved and Lit" photo. I neglected to mention that I had nothing to do with carving any of them. They were part of a terrific display while we were out trick-or-treating. I could never take credit for such artistic ability!
