Amie at Richmond Hill
Many legends surround the mysterious abandonment of Richmond Hill, a tiny settlement deep in the bush on a tiny island in the Bahamas. Locals will tell you the entire population left the village spontaneously back in the 1970s, but no one seems to know why. Were they driven out by an insect infestation, or illness? Were they too far from where the mail boat came to bring provisions? Was it political? At any rate, what's left of Richmond Hill is a cluster of delapidated buildings, some still holding clothing on hangers, baby shoes, and pots & pans on broken-down stoves. But the weirdest phenomenon is that, the longer the buildings age, the more intense and bright the walls become. Shades of neon orange, turquoise and green make for an eerie, almost cartoon-like atmosphere. What better place to try a photo shoot with one of my favorite new models, Amie? With a setting like Richmond Hill, and a beauty like Amie, it made for yet another fun and creative afternoon.
