Roxanne Evans > Fingers of Sunset Over The Drying Lake. It was a strange sensation to walk the dried lake bed. The ground was cracked and broken and it felt odd to be standing where it was normally quite deep. Tim-to answer the question of why the lake is drying--Florida is suffering from a drought right now. We've had very little rain and wildfires are a huge threat at the moment and in many places the water has shrunk to almost nothing. I hate the drought conditions but I admit to taking advantage of the fact that you have more wildlife gathering in areas of water to drink and feed.
