On November 9th, 2008, Towing Companies from all over Northern Illinois got up early (and I mean early) Sunday morning, fired up there shiny tow trucks that they spent all day Saturday getting ready, secured all of the Christmas gifts they collected for the Toys for Tots and headed to the Empress Casino in Joliet for the 1st annual "Tow Truck for Tots" toy drive and parade. The snow showers and cold wind did not dampen the spirits of all the drivers that made the trip down for this excellent cause. Worldwide Equipment put this event together and it turned out excellent. The tow truck parade left Joliet and ended up at Toyota Park in Bridgeview. I don't know how many trucks there were but is was between 250 and 300. The parade streched for miles. Except for the wet roads getting my truck dirty and the dark skies making photography very difficult, it was a very good time. Seeing the dump trucks filling up with toys was a great feeling.
