The Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territory - Ladies and Gentlemen of the Regiment, Headquarters Mesa, Arizona is an 'INDEPENDENT ORGANIZATION'.


"National Day of the Cowboy Celebration (NDOC)", Apache Junction, AZ was created in 2005 by a proclamation of the U.S. Senate (SR#138) "in honor of the American Cowboy and their many contributions to the national culture and way of life". Our own Governor Janet Napolitano was the first Western governor to endorse the NDCO in a State proclamation and has since been followed by 9 other Governors. Each of these proclamations encourages community celebrations in honor of the Day and the "Cowboy" creed of honesty, hard work, independence and loyalty"

Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territory - Ladies and Gentlemen of the Regiment, Mesa, AZ is a re-enactment organization that keeps alive the memory and traditions of the African-American troopers - without which it's unlikely there would be Arizona Cowboys to celebrate! It was these disciplined units of the U.S. Cavalry and Infantry that bore the brunt of the Cochise and Geronimo Wars and latter fought so notably in the Spanish American War. "Buffalo Soldiers" were for Courage, Sacrifice, Bravery, Loyalty and Devotion to Duty". "Ladies of the Regiment" is one of Honor, Dignity and Respect frome some of the women on the frontier with their Heroisms' which they were living. "Black Women of the Old West".
