Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territory - Ladies and Gentlemen of the Regiment, Headquarters Mesa, AZ you are invited to join us as we celebrate Black History Month in February by participating in the Grand Entry of the 4th Annual Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo (BPIR), Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Arizona. The best African-American cowboys(the nations only touring Black Rodeo).
Year: 2010 (Brittany Bell, Miss Arizona USA, 2010 as Miss Photogenic; Raven Green, 2010 Miss Black Teen Arizona USA; Rebekah Oliver, 2010 Miss Black Arizona USA).
The Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territory - Ladies and Gentlemen of the Regiment and children participation would include riding in Grand Entry.

The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo is the nation's only African-American touring rodeo and the number one family entertainment and cultural event. Bill Pickett was inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1971 as the first Black rodeo athlete to earn this recognition. He died in 1932 after being kicked by a bronco. Last year's Arizona BPIR auccessfully reached over 3,000 individuals who were interested in the education and cultural contributions of African-Americans in the development of the west.
