fotoeffects > View of the water vapor from the power plant on a very cold morning - I have to admit that I am rather obsessed with getting shots of this downtown power plant. The best views of it seem to be from a spot on the freeway where there is no possible place to stop and that is not a good view from the windshield of the car. This was shot from the lot of the Chevrolet dealer.

Thanks for the encouragement on my book, as well as the comments on the shot of the bike rider. We get to go to my grandson's piano recital today and Duncan is playing one of his own compositions. I'm excited to hear him play!
fotoeffects > A biker in Old Colorado City, Colorado

I published my first book on blurb.com today. It is a children's book called "Spencer Rafts the Grand Canyon" and is the story of our trip last year rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, as told from the perspective of an eight year old boy. It has lots of photographs to illustrate the story. If any of you are interested in checking it out, it is here: http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/1047987

Thanks a bunch for all the comments on my coca-cola glasses today. Very encouraging! Hope everyone has a good day. It is going to be below zero here all day. Brrrr! I don't like the cold.

fotoeffects > The view a few moments before sunrise from my bedroom window.

I really enjoyed all the wonderful shots today...seemed like even more than usual. So much talent here and we keep getting new folks that are also loaded with talent and creativity! Sure makes me want to improve.

Have fun!
fotoeffects > Casino Restaurant - this is a restaurant inside one of the casinos in Cripple Creek. I actually shot this quite a long time ago and pulled it out of the archives because I did not want to use one of my more recent shots. Someone asked why it was so empty...it was in the middle of the afternoon, so no one was eating.

Have a great day!
fotoeffects > Reflected trees - at the pond where I was photographing the ducks last week.

Thanks to all of you for your nice response to my frost on the window pic. It is such a rare thing for us to have frost on the window. I was thrilled to have a chance to capture it. Hope your week begins well.
fotoeffects > Thar's frost on the pumpkin and on the window - We rarely have frost on any of our windows, so I was quite excited to see it on the storm door one morning not long ago. I rushed to get my camera and captured a few shots. You really need to view this in the largest sizes to see the wonderful patterns.

Thanks for the comments on my power stack pic. Hope your holiday weekend is going well. Glad to hear that many of you are no more ready for Christmas than I am. We slackers like to hear that we are not the only ones!
fotoeffects > Power stack and steam - I think this image needs to be viewed in the larger sizes.

Is everyone in the throes of shopping for Christmas already? I can't seem to get my mind around it this year. Perhaps, because my hubby is having a total hip replacement on Dec. 8, or maybe I'm just ditzy this year. Who knows? Anyway, I'm going to try to get myself in gear real soon. Hope you have a good day.
