The Jordan seventh-grade girls basketball team finished first at the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted girls basketball tournament on Saturday, Jan. 3 and the Shakopee tournament on Jan. 10. For the Shakopee tournament, Jordan defeated Prior Lake 23-11, Lakeville South 25-16 and Apple Valley 30-15. In their quarterfinal game of the HLWW tournament, Jordan defeated Monticello 34-7. The followed that up with a 32-14 victory over Htuchinson in the semifinals. In the championship game, Jordan hung on to win 30-28 over Mayer. Those three wins brings the 7th grade girls record to 10-2 for the season. The girls have competed in five tournaments so far this year and have placed first three times, second once and third once.
