In fashion, If the 1920s represented glam, glitter, and an unabashed dose of debauchery, the 1950s were all about staid elegance and polished refinement. Several of the leading fashion photographers from that time, Irving Penn, Cecil Beaton and Gordon Parks, created glorious images of haute couture women bathed in golden light and dressed to the nines in sculptured hats and delicate fabrics. I have so much fun playing around with this look, and this gallery features some of my recent images emulating the high society style of the 1950s.
