On March 5, 2009, Gawad Kalinga met with faculty members of the UCLA Health Sciences Schools (Medicine, Nursing and Public Health) with the goal of forming a partnership between GK and these schools to further the cause of Gawad Kalusugan, the healthcare arm of Gawad Kalinga. After the GK leadership met with several faculty members, the day's visit was capped with a mixer/dinner at the UCLA Faculty Center co-hosted by the School of Public Health EMPH Program (http://www.emph.ucla.edu/ ) and the UCLA Center for Global and Immigrant Health.
