PORTFOLIO
This gallery may display from 5 to 30 examples of what I consider my "best" photos for review by those wanting to see my work without having to scroll through 6,000 photos. I want this gallery to contain the photos that "take your breath away." The other galleries contain less impactful photos - simply because I shoot for the community - who tell me they enjoy seeing all the pictures. (c) 2005 Photos by Becky Blanton.

 > Son of Day band member Keenan Arrington is "Straight edge," a term describing a lifestyle of NOT using drugs, alcohol or cigarettes nor of engaging in "promiscuous sex." It's not a religious thing at all. "Even atheists can be 'edge'" he says. The heavy metal band was playing recently at a Lexington "all ages" nightclub. (c) 2005 Photo by Becky Blanton. > Club patrons are silhouetted against a "blue bar" in Lexington's Short Street Lounge. The Lounge was serving only cokes and water during an "all ages" performance by four heavy metal bands. (c) 2005 Photo by Becky Blanton. All rights reserved.
 > The "XXX" stands for "straight edge" - a lifestyle choice that says "No alcohol, no drugs, no cigarette smoking and no promiscous sex." Some of the young adults who follow the lifestyle do it for their family, their band or thier personal religious beliefs. This young man, a member of the Son of Day band, "does it for myself." > I like the small town feel and look of this parade shot. The Kentucky United Pipes and Drum band of Lexington marched in the Springfield, Washington County Fourth of July parade this year - then performed a half hour concert after the parade. The parade passed in front of the county courthouse - the oldest operating courthouse in Kentucky. (c) 2005 Photo by Becky Blanton. All rights reserved.
