Grape Harvest Jimmy Hatchett
There are at least eight vineyards in Washington County and Jimmy Hatchett - owner of the largest - also consented to share a bit of his afternoon allowing photos of the harvest. Hatchett has seven varities of grapes - including table grapes. Hatchett takes his grapes to a processing plant outside the county rather than processing in-house. Thanks Jimmy! I enjoyed the ride on the grape wagon and loved the tour!
Nests discovered in the vineyard are usually destroyed to keep birds from returning and/or nesting. This nest won't be destroyed but will go to a local school or group for schoolchildren to see as an example of a bird's nest. (c) 2005 Photo By Becky Blanton. All rights reserved.
