Alice Barker > My first go at using my macro lens. We'd had over night rain and the borage plants growing by our pool caught my eye as the sun made the raindrops sparkle. I never knew how pretty those plants were until now.
Alice Barker > We happened to be taking shots above the Bay of Cannes and, it being early May, wild ferns were just unfurling their dainty leaves.
Alice Barker > Taken in the same area as the young fern leaves. Wild lavender flowers above the Bay of Cannes on the French Riviera.
Alice Barker > I had fun photographing strawberry flowers growing outside my office. Mid morning sunshine and the fact that it was April - help to soften the otherwise harsh Riviera sunshine we get in summer.
Alice Barker > After a couple of days, I started to become more adventurous with my new lens and took a series of photos of our purple Irises that had come into flower by our tiny pond. I just love the way the light hits the delicate leaves and brings out such astonishing colours.
Alice Barker > Off round the garden and decided to photograph dandelion heads. Only when I uploaded the photo did I notice the snail and eggs. The plants, although considered weeds, are really beautiful.
Alice Barker > Image taken in the gardens of Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild of a young Bottlebrush (Callistemon) bursting into flower.
Alice Barker > Photo of a Clematis caught in our early morning Riviera sunshine, dappled by tall deciduous trees growing along our river bank.
