Photos for the Daily Photo Community are in this gallery but I am not shooting every day. So "daily" for this gallery doesn't mean every day. There's not even a loose schedule. There are so many talented photographers in the Daily Photo Community, I just like to keep my foot in the door so I can be tangentially associated with them.

my interpretation of the image
Gerry Daniel > lake reflection, late afternoon

shot in the late afternoon at a lake close to my house
Gerry Daniel > golden leaves, afternoon sun, and the water
Gerry Daniel > blush of autumn
Gerry Daniel > reflecting along the lake bank
Gerry Daniel > autumn lake waterscape

Until this image, i have stayed away fro using any effects on my waterscape photographs. Shooting and processing are two completely separate parts of creating the final image. Generally I stay with the photo as it was shot. But I will let the image lead me. This was an abstract reflection so I felt that the effects were appropriate.
Gerry Daniel > autumn scene, reflected in the lake

since my other post was more abstract and that always seems to cause trouble for some reason, here is a different photograph presented as shot, reality restored for those that were struggling with the other image with effects
Gerry Daniel > Autumn, painted on the water by the sun

Water, colors, and light fascinate me - this scene was created by nature and captured by my camera. Other than controlling the ISO, the aperture (manual), the focus (manual), and the shutter speed (manual), what you see in this photograph is the complete frame as it was shot - i used the Curves layer to find the black, white, and gray points to correct any color cast, a slight adjustment of Brightness/Contrast, and minor sharpening using the Unsharp Mask - that's it, no cropping.

Despite my best efforts to capture a scene the way I want, it is rare that I succeed to the degree that I want. For me, this photograph is one of those rare occasions. Nobody is harder on my work than I am. This is a photograph that I truly like. It feels very weird to say that.

Hopefully, others will enjoy it too.
Gerry Daniel > leaf in transition
Gerry Daniel > floating leaves, bare branches

the leaves floating on the surface of the water on top of the bare branches of the tree reflected in the water, it is intended to be a concept shot, it may not work for some people
Gerry Daniel > floating on the surface

many of my photographs have been trending more abstract lately, i am shooting some scenes that are more direct and standard but they haven't interested me as much visually as the more abstract work

to some degree i feel my vision for what i am shooting to be changing and i am trying to follow the lead with my camera
Gerry Daniel > leaf resting on the bottom

i have enough trouble coming up with captions and lately i am struggling to decide whether some photographs are waterscapes or colorscapes or both. regardless of the category (which doesn't matter significantly), this image is what i was trying to capture for this shot.
