These don't really fall into any category. When most people see these pieces they all ask the same question, "What is that?"

illustrativeman > "Shrike". I named this after a character from the book , "Hyperion", written by Dan Simons. There is also a songbird called as the "Loggerhead Shrike" and known for it's habit of impaling prey on thorns or barbed wire. I'm just guessing but I'd say that Dan Simons named his character after this bird. In any event, they are, in all likelyhood, extinct now. In 1987 there were only 18 breeding pairs remaining in Wisconsin.
illustrativeman > "Burnt Offering". On another one of California's scorching hot days I came accross this interesting scene. Hmm those trees look like green sheep..
illustrativeman > "Zoom". Not an original name, it's actually a lone Oak tree I saw on a trip I took through the hills of California. I imagined myself as a bird zeroing in on a target...
illustrativeman > The End of Time. An interesting mix of pure computer generated Fractal image and just the right amount of Red Dwarf.
illustrativeman > "Turbulence". An Ocatillo flower, blowing in the wind, was the subject of this piece.
illustrativeman > Shattered Eyes. Possibly the most fun I've had creating these pictures was when I created this one. I did this over an eighteen hour period back in 2001, when I received word my company was laying off me and sixty others.. The tech bubble had burst. My eyes, broken glass and plastic wrap.... How weird is that ! Sorry, but this is only available in small. Anything larger than 4*5 would look ... less than acceptable..
illustrativeman > "Cat's Eye". The texture of the rust on an old rusted-out steel drum, lying in a field caught my eye. I thought the cat's eyes were an an interesting touch.
illustrativeman > Ruination. Staples, nails, an old telephone pole and some ruins.
illustrativeman > "Cats Paw". Something about the way these mustard flowers blew in the wind reminded me of a cat sneaking up and pouncing on it's prey
