Sorghum Parade 2005
This year was the last for the Washington County Sorghum Festival. After 29 years the festival has ended and a new one - focused on Abraham Lincoln's parent's wedding - will take its place. This is the last Sorghum Festival parade. There are several photos of some of the entrants - all are posted here to give a sense of "motion" for those viewers who use the slideshow function on this page. This year's Grand Marshal and co-Marshall were Hugh Lee Grundy and his wife Frankie. Hugh Grundy was the first president of the covert CIA airline - "Air America". Grundy is a life-long Washington County native. Now 91 years old, Grundy and his wife drove their vintage Austin Healy in this year's parade.
