QA Tester
We make it. You break it.
SmugMug's on the lookout for QA testers to creatively tinker with our works-in-progress. If you love looking for loopholes and playing the villain, we want you to prove our features are up to snuff.
Your mug shot:
- A profound love of technology, gadgetry, hardware and software, and a thirst to embrace new technologies.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems and browsers.
- Organized, meticulous, confident, persistent and detail oriented.
- A strong desire to make a real impact on the final product. You'll have your say on the direction we go even if it means banging away super late on push nights.
- You don't need to know PHP, Javascript or CSS. But if you're that nerdy, we'll be duly impressed.
- QA experience not required, just a love of the Smug. Existing customers get extra points.

UI Engineer
We're on the lookout for fervent and talented JavaScript, CSS, PHP and Flash gurus to make the user experience magical.
Our mantra is You Look Better Here. So we constantly get to push the limits, like making custom full-screen images on the fly that fit your display area perfectly without letting the browser mess it up.
We're LAMP-based with a touch of Flash (but not enough to break on iPads). We love finding sorcerers who are JavaScript and PHP Zen masters, but some have thrived here with unusual backgrounds if they had the fever. And if you're good with MySQL, major bonus points.

UI Designer
We've got an open spot for a UI Designer to stitch a seamless backdrop and make the user experience flow. Our customers trust us to safeguard their memories, their businesses and their dreams. The last thing they need is for the site to interfere.

- Design Products from an Idea to Implementation.
- Be at our office to interact and problem solve at least 3 times a week (SmugMug HQ - Mountain View, CA).

- Wireframed and Prototyped Extensively - Created wireframes and click-through prototypes.
- Designed within Constraints - You believe that consistent Design Language is critical Style and Branding Guidelines are there to help you.
- Designed for Mobile - iOS, Android and Web (Responsive Design).
- Showcased Dribbble Portfolio - Show us YOUR robust projects.
- Designed with Modern Aesthetic - Clean and Minimal. More Dieter Rams, less corinthian leather stitching.
- Mastered Photoshop and Illustrator.

Support Hero

We do our best to astonish our customers by answering help email in minutes.
We do it by hiring people who know and love SmugMug and its customers. They work full or part-time, from their homes in their jammies.
Steve Mills, for example, was working as a pro photographer from Detroit, Michigan. As a dedicated hero he now helps our Pros become even better. Barb Gates from Boise, Idaho, has the digital photography fever and came to us by way of our community. She started as a support hero and has worked her way up to become Captain of the team!
Steve and Barb are customers who have the passion. They both work (play?) from their homes, to the delight of many SmugMug customers who receive quick, friendly and knowledgeable advice from them.
The main job requirements are a friendly and helpful attitude. Our support ranges from responding to "Ack! I typed in the wrong zip code on my order!" to "I need help getting proper skin tones on my prints."
No one at SmugMug knows all the answers. We learn from each other and work together on the help desk, each person taking questions they feel comfortable with. A willingness to learn and work with others is key.
Our customers come from every walk of life. What they share is their passion for life's memories.
