Taken on October 7th 2009 at the Museum of Transportation, St. Louis County (Kirkwood), Missouri during an annual visit.
This 247,100 pound, 1,600 horsepower ALCO RS-3 diesel-electric road switcher was one of 26 purchased by the Missouri Pacific Railroad (MoPac).
The RS-3 began production in the Schenectady, New York, Shops of the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in 1950 as a replacement for their RS-2.
