Often times Afghans have no heat source aside from a fire, and even in the south, where summers easily reach 120 degrees, the winters are marked by constant clouds and rain, with temperatures in the 20s-30s. This man is gathering kindling for his home, to stay warm. The trees are few are far between, and they offer much needed shade in the summer, so Afghans will not cut down their trees for firewood, because of the severe negative impact this would have on their comfort and livelihood in the summer.

A young afghan walks his goats home as a loaded car speeds past, kicking up a cloud of dust in his face. In the rural areas of the country, foot and bike are still the primary means of travel. Travel infrastructure is improving rapidly though. This road was only a small two-tire track in the dirt a short while ago, but by now is likely paved. This was somewhat heavily edited, there were some wire strands that were unavoidable crossing the frame so those where edited out. You can see on the left side where some blur was applied, those section were slightly too complicated for the computer to accurately remove the wire in that area.

Conch is vital component to the lifestyle and economy of native Bahamian citizens. It is used for decoration, eating, and fuels a large part of the tourist industry.
