In this piece I mused on communication in multiple forms: looking at it as basically a transfer of information from one area to another, or at least the attempt in which to do so. Emotions communicate to one's psyche one's true feelings and one may express emotions in words to someone else. The sound that surrounds us is jam-packed with valuable information. The criss-crossing lines and forms represent the inherent interconnectedness of all communication. The loss of ego through language.

A cartoon figure produces a word balloon as he stands within a visual cornucopia of multi-colored and intersecting parallel lines, organic shapes, and concentric circles. Painted on a light-colored bare wood panel, the subtle wood grain in the background rounds out this abstract work inspired by communication. The figure's aqua shirt meshes with the red striping around it, out of which his left arm reaches toward the blue word balloon to grasp its nadir, making it a physical item in this context. Lines, and shapes reminiscent of the figure's hands slice through up and down his body and create partitions for saturated color combinations.
