As vehicles traveled around the traffic island at Queen Street and Church Hill Road on Saturday, April 27, David Delia, left, the owner of Royal Oak, LLC, of Redding, trims away some excess growth from a flowering cherry tree. Mr Delia, a licensed arborist, and his son George, right, pruned the tree. The plantings at the traffic island are maintained by The Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown.  (Gorosko photo)
