Wednesday, December 24, 2014 -- Winterfest Tulsa
This is the entrance to Winterfest Tulsa, held adjacent to the city’s BOK Center http://bit.ly/1wE1OjU). Winterfest is Tulsa’s downtown winter holiday venue for family activities, boasting an outdoor ice skating rink larger than New York City's Rockefeller Plaza (9000 Sq Ft vs 7000 Sq Ft).
The 44’ x 30’ Christmas tree shown above stands at the entrance to the plaza where the skating rink includes a climate controlled (heated) tent from which spectators can watch the skaters and skaters can take a break to warm up if desired.
The venue includes outdoor live music every Saturday during December, as well as carriage rides around the downtown area on specific dates. This year’s Winterfest is expected to have substantially more visitors than the recorded 140,000+ in 2013.
