Aichi D3A
Designed in 1936, first flew 1938. This fixed-gear  naval dive bomber was the primary attack aircraft at Pearl Harbor.

It carried 3 7.7mm (.303) guns –two fixed forward and one rear-firing position. This “obsolete” aircraft sunk more allied shipping than any other Axis aircraft.
By 1944, the Val was superseded and was used primarily for dual training and Kamikaze attacks.
The museum’s “Val” is one of several created from Vultee BT-13A airframes for the movie “Tora, Tora, Tora”.
