In support of its 787 Dreamliner production facility in Charleston, SC, the Boeing Company operates a fleet of heavily modified 747 cargo aircraft called Dreamlifters. The bulbous cargo areas of these aircraft are the largest of any in the world. They are used to transport bulky 787 components from the primary manufacturing location in Washington State.
