I didn't think I was going to post anything today, been way too busy, didn't even get the camera out, which is very very rare for me. But after a couple of beers this evening I had a play with this old transparency in photoshop, and it sort of turned into my homage to Ansel Adams. He has always been one of my heroes, but I've never even considered trying to copy his style in any way. This just happened from nowhere, and was all over in a few minutes. Inspiration? Who knows, the mind does strange things, especially when you're very tired.

The original of this has always been one of my favourite images. I took it in 1991 on a climbing trip to the Annapurna Himal of Nepal. The best I can hope is that it captures something of the spirit of the trip, and of these beautiful mountains in general. Everyone should do this at least once in their lives. The world looks different when you come back down.
