This picture was taken about 1940 in front of our rented house at 918 Madison street in Albany California. The USA would soon enter WW II and discretionary travel such as this would be greatly limited.
My earliest memory of grandpa Jesperson was when we were sitting around the dinner table and I was setting up a fuss. When grandpa had had enough he banged his fist on the dinner table and my fuss abruptly ended. My fear of the heavy handed corporal punishment was at that point firmly established.
After the war I visited Grandma Emma and Grandpa James together for the last time in San Diego . They were living with my father's older brother Jim.
