SmugMug > keywords > apple blossoms > April 25, 2009 Every photo I took today was dull and boring, so at 9:30 pm I took out my camera and went out on our deck to try--yet again--to get a shot of our flowering apple tree. It burst into bloom exactly a week ago, and now, as you can see, the blossoms are rapidly shedding their petals. It's funny, I like this nighttime shot (illuminated only by the porch light) better than any of the 50+ photos I've snapped of the tree in the daylight hours.

SmugMug > keywords > apple blossoms > April 18, 2009 Our apple tree burst into bloom today (and I mean BURST--it was nothing but buds yesterday and today it is a riot of flowers). I must have taken 50 photos of it, but none of them seemed to capture the tree's splendor or satisfy me for my photo of the day. So I snipped off a few blooms and put them in a vase, photographed them with one of my old white shawls as a back drop and added a texture overlay in Photoshop.
