I've always loved night photography, but for years (decades actually!) I hated street photography. But in the last couple of years I've learned to love night street photography. As a photographer you seem less conspicuous, and if anyone questions why you were taking a photo of them, you can genuinely tell them that they will be hard to recognise. I love playing with shutter speeds, but even on "auto" you get some wonderful effects at night. Definitely another "something" that every photographer should try a lot more of :)

This little chicken restaurant closed months ago. The night-view through the dark windows has intrigued me for as long. It's for sale, if anybody is interested in trying a cafe in a marginal neighborhood.

I don't usually take photographs of doors. The doors at the Cathedral are so menacing, however, that I made an exception. True, I did attempt to heighten the effect, but not all that much. The real doors are pretty forbidding on their own.
