SmugMug > keywords > british isles > This grey bush-cricket, Platycleis albopunctata, was found by the side of the Cliff path at Le Gouffre on Guernsey's south coast on the 26 July 2008.  The cliff path at this point slopes steeply to the east.  The south facing land rises steeply above the cliff path.  This area is covered in dry vegetation, where, at this time of year, crickets are found in abundance.  This cricket was identified from this photograph by entomologist Dr. Charles David of the Guernsey Biological Records Centre.  http://www.biologicalrecordscentre.gov.gg/

SmugMug > keywords > british isles > This common field grasshopper, Chorthippus brunneus, was found on the land-side of the cliff path at Le Gouffre on Guernsey's south coast on the 26th July 2008.  There are many crickets at this time of year in this south-facing steeply sloping ground, which near the cliff path is covered in dry vegetation. SmugMug > keywords > british isles > Grey triggerfish, Balistes capriscus, have arrived in Guernsey waters in increasing numbers in recent years.  They frequently enter crab pots.  This specimen was caught from the shore in a recreational angling competition by Caleb Zunino. It was photographed alive and returned to the sea.
