SmugMug > keywords > congregational > February 9 - We are enjoying a beautiful spring day (even though it is still winter. Blue skies and warm sun brighten anyone's spirits. This is First Parish Congregational Church in Saco, Maine. Located at the north end of downtown, the church has had somewhat of a tragic history. The church was established in 1762, moving to this site in 1805. That building was destroyed by fire in 1860. The determined parishioners rebuilt here in 1863. That second structure burned in 2000. Once again, church members rallied and built this third home on Main and Birch Streets in 2004.

The building was moved to a new location and this building was built on the original site on Crescent Street. This is Site #24 of my Museum in the Streets tour.
