Ynys y Pandy is an impressive, three-storied slab producing slate mill. Built between 1855 and 1857 to serve the Gorseddau quarry, the ruin has arched windows and is reminiscent of a ruined abbey or cotton mill. It had a very short period of operation and is considered by some to be the "Cathedral of the Welsh Slate Industry"
