SmugMug > keywords > glitter > At first I wanted to title this "Hello, Actor." But a former co-worker of mine was acting like a whiny drama-queen and I decided that this painting illustrated her need for the spotlight at all times. While it is hard to see in this photo, I put many thick layers of yellow paint on the "stage" portion of the painting so that I could subtly etch floorboards into it. I marked the center of the spotlight with an X (red tape, of course), just like we do in the theater so actors know where to stand. The black paint on this canvas is a very shiny acrylic and is wonderful to work with. Acrylic, silver Sharpie, and Hannah Montana silver glitter glue (sue me, it was on sale). January 2009.
