After living with the sani con for two years its a pleasure to go back to the quick gravity system-I am glad that Thetford bailed out of the sani con product and that I was unable to get rebuild part for the pump... As 'clean' as the sani con but a whole lot faster and simpler-when you really think about the sani con system its just silly.
SmugMug > keywords > gone > All close up, all you see is a short piece of hose where it enters the compartment, and yes I do wish the hose was black in color.
SmugMug > keywords > gone > In the Phoenix Cruiser to store the hose in the original compartment you will have to cut a small section of the fiberglass away AND also you will have to remove about 20" of collasped feet of hose. The cut out looks big in the pic but it is really only about a 1/4 inch bigger than the 3" hose.
SmugMug > keywords > gone > Here is the business end of this great product, nozzel has been trimmed. The entire system is so tight that if you try to extend the hose with the nozzel close very little happens; the hose extends just a few feet then the hose begins to collaspe, its holding a vacuum-you have to open the nozzel to fully extend the hose. Even with the shortened hose I still have an honest 10', and should I find that I need more its easy to screw the removed section back on and I will have another 6' or so-though I am confident that this will have to be done very infrequently if at all.
SmugMug > keywords > gone > To get the nozzel into the compartment it looked like I had two choices; 1) cut a slot into the bottom to receive the handle part of the nozzel OR what I ended up doing, cut a 3" hole in the top and trim 1/2" off the nozzel end. If I had to do it again I probably would cut the slot.
