The name Taktshang means "Tiger's nest", the legend being that Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) flew there on the back of a tiger and then meditated in a cave on this cliff. The monastery includes seven temples which can all be visited. The monastery suffered several blazes but has been restored. One can approach this monastery either on foot or mule and I believe a road is also being built.
