I have a little chicken problem. I really love chickens, but only certain depictions of chickens. I'm not into "country" chickens or "traditional" chickens. I like nutty chickens.

When I bought my first house, I knew it was the right house because the owners had a chicken-themed kitchen. It was meant to be.

I really want to have a chicken as a pet, but my farm-raised boyfriend said that chickens are smelly and annoying. I keep trying to convince him that *my* chicken would be awesome and lovable and potty-trained and fresh-smelling and would sleep on our bed and help with the housework. He doesn't believe me, and I'm not exactly sure why.

Whatever. Boys.

I drive past this place almost daily. I always wonder how I might shoot this "kitschy" storefront. Well, here's an attempt - Holga style (or Holga kitsch, if you prefer).

By the way, the business is "That Pet Place (aka, "That Fish Place"). If you have animals, you may have purchased from their catalog or website. The are one of the larger mail-order pet & aquarium suppliers in the country. Nice folks too.
