SmugMug > keywords > miniature > Day 86 (November 21, 2009) - Float on little Stephen. Float on.

*note - and so ends Photoshop week. I'm so behind in my dailies, because each one of these is so time consuming. Expect something different next week. So tempted to just do a ton of "lazy" shots to catch up. We'll see!
SmugMug > keywords > miniature > Day 85 (November 20, 2009) - A thief in the night!

*note - As you can probably tell, I've been having a lot of fun in Photoshop this week. I have so much to learn and I'd probably learn a whole lot more if I worked on something besides shrinking myself, but I can't help it. It's a lot of fun!
SmugMug > keywords > miniature > Day 84 (November 19, 2009) - Photoshop week continues with a couple of midnight scavengers!

*edit - thanks for all the comments yesterday. I really appreciate the feedback. I haven't been commenting as much as usual, but I hope to be browsing everyone's galleries once my schedule frees up and when I'm done with this week's backlog of edit-intensive photos.
SmugMug > keywords > miniature > Day 83 (November 18, 2009) - So many big books for such a small brain.
SmugMug > keywords > miniature > Day 81 (November 16, 2009) - My second attempt at a fake tilt-shift miniature. Took my time with this one and I rather like it. A lot better than yesterday's rush job.
SmugMug > keywords > miniature > Day 80 (November 15, 2009) - My first rushed attempt at faking a miniature. Didn't really turn out as I hoped. I'll try again another day.
SmugMug > keywords > miniature > 8.11.09 - Waiting Patiently

I spent much of the weekend at a Model Railway Exhibition. Saturday I took the twins, and watched them fall under the spell that has captured millions of kids before them. Sunday I took the camera and had a great time all on my own!

Many of us will have had a model railway when we were younger, but few people get to create the detailed alternative worlds that were on show this weekend. It was a very challenging shoot, ambient light, lots of people milling around, and tiny subject matter. This particular shot was taken through the entrance to a miniature Station. I took more than a dozen photos from this position, and they all look totally different because they depend on where the very shallow depth of field is focused.

There is a gallery of shots from the exhibition here, please visit it if you have the time, but be prepared to get lost in there; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/Photography/MODEL-RAILWAY-EXHIBITION/10251184_B9N36#707077837_nomY3
