The Saint Anthony neighborhood is the oldest part of Minneapolis. It was once an independent village that incorporated in 1855, three years before Minnesota statehood. Saint Anthony and Minneapolis merged in 1872. Main Street was the first part of the Mill District to be renewed in the 1970's.
