12/10/09 - Holiday Scene

My annual trip to the community clubhouse to photograph the holiday decorations. Spent about an hour in this one room and made about a dozen different compositions. Most were like this one (low angle, photographer on his knees hunched over a low tripod, people passing through and wondering "what the hell....?"). This is a three exposure HDR using Photomatix Pro to combine the 0, -1, -2 EV exposures. Added an arty border just for fun. This will probably end up as a Christmas card for my 94 year old mother.
Note to self - the single 0 EV RAW file processed in Capture NX looks every bit as good as this 3-exposure HDR (better maybe) with a whole lot less work.
