SmugMug > keywords > old orchard beach > May 3 – Today I spent most of the day in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. They celebrated their first annual “Taste of Old Orchard Beach” festival. My friend, Michael, had a booth for his vintage furniture store and I kept him company. This is a picture of a 1925 fire engine that was on display. Click here to see other sights of the day.

Last night a storm blew across Maine on its way out to sea leaving behind a beautiful day. Maine is not known for high waves, unless a windy storm is right offshore blowing in just the right directon. In this shot, I am standing in the shadow of the Old Orchard Beach pier which is the shadow in the lower right. The land in the distance is Prout's Neck in Scarborough. A kayaker landed on shore after fighting the heavy surf just shaking his head.
SmugMug > keywords > old orchard beach > September 18 - I finally made my way to Old Orchard Beach this afternoon. As the tide was going out, there were many seagulls looking for lunch on the beach. This one posed for me in the late afternoon sun so I could capture him and his shadow.
